Lord, Have Mercy

Lord, have mercy. This morning Rev. Liz shared that all the money gathered during our offering today as well as on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday would go to support two hospitals run by the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem — one in the West Bank, and one in Gaza. Soon after services, our Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe shared that this very hospital in Gaza was bombed last night. In his words:

“Early this Palm Sunday morning, we received confirmation that al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, was hit last night by Israeli missiles. The diocese and many media outlets report that the emergency department, the pharmacy, the chapel, and other essential facilities have been severely damaged, and patients are without shelter or medical care.

No matter how we understand the causes of violence in the Holy Land, we can surely agree that we must support our fellow Anglicans in alleviating the devastating humanitarian crisis now unfolding in Gaza.”

Please pray for those who were hurt, for all those who will not be able to access the medical care they need, and for everyone working for healing. Pray for peace.

We will continue our effort to support this critical ministry in the days ahead. You can bring cash or a check to church, or if you’d like to give by PayPal, you can do so here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s-xclick…

Thank you for your generosity.
