Small-Group Offerings this Fall

his Fall we will again be offering opportunities for people to participate in small groups.  Small groups are designed to be places that you can dive into a specific spiritual topic or practice with a group of people to create community.  This Fall we are have three different opportunities:

  1.  EFM:  Education for Ministry: This formation program is designed as a four-year small-group study, worship, and theological reflection to help participants understand the Christian Tradition and their own call to service.  You don’t not have to commit to a four year study to participate in this group but it is an option for you.  This group will meet on Zoom with a trained facilitator and include other Episcopalians from our neighboring churches.  There will be a kick-off meeting in October and then a schedule will be created for the classes.
  2. “Discipleship Groups:”  groups of 5-6 people who meet every week (or every other week) for about 45 – 60 minutes  They share an opening prayer liturgy, share silence, and share a check-in from their week.  They also support each other as they strive to deepen their prayer life, read scripture, and serve others.  These groups can meet in person or online. (As talked about by the Rev. Christopher Martin at the August Book Club)
  3. Autumn art and meditation: Carol Held will lead a 4-class series this Autumn offering meditation and art creation as a way to find God in our everyday lives. The focus this Autumn will be on trees and leaves as they change during the Fall season. Classes will be Wednesdays 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, and 10/22 from 10 – 11am in the Parish hall.

If you are interested or have questions about these small group opportunities, please ask Rev. Whitney.
