The Episcopal Church

Church of the Resurrection is part of the Episcopal Diocese of California, which is made up of about 70 churches in the Bay Area. The Diocese of California is led by our Bishop, the Right Reverend Austin Rios and a group of elected lay leaders and other clergy.

The Diocese of California is part of the wider Episcopal Church, which includes congregations across the US and in 16 other countries. Our roots are in the Church of England; we are part of the global Anglican Communion. The primary leader of the Episcopal Church is the Presiding Bishop, the Most Reverend Sean Rowe. As a church, we believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God, and strive to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.
