Holy Week & Easter

Join us for Holy Week and Easter at Church of the Resurrection! Whether you’re contemplating visiting Church of the Resurrection for the first time or have been here for a long time, you are most welcome to celebrate Holy Week and Easter here.

Palm Sunday — March 29th at 8 and 10:15am

Retrace Jesus’ joyful and subversive entry into Jerusalem, as we wave palms and sing loud hosannas. We begin outside on our labyrinth, remembering the crowds who followed Jesus as he rode humbly on a donkey, ready to face the powers that be with steadfast love. The 10:15 service will also be livestreamed.

Maundy Thursday — April 2nd at 7pm

Celebrate the ancient traditions of Holy Eucharist, foot washing, and the stripping of the altar as we prepare for Good Friday. The service will also be livestreamed.

Good Friday — April 3rd at Noon (spoken) and 7pm (with music)

Gather to hear the Passion Gospel, venerate the cross, lament the ways we have gone astray, and take heart in sharing communion from the sacrament reserved on Maundy Thursday. Our 7pm service will also be livestreamed.

Stations of the Cross — April 3rd at 6:30pm (outside)

We gather outside to praying Stations of the Cross, which people often find meaningful to walk before the Solemn Good Friday service begins at 7pm.

Holy Week for Kids Service — April 4th at 10:30am

Geared toward preschool and elementary aged children and their caregivers, this service will last less than an hour. It will be a way for our younger members to enter the sacred stories of Holy Week through a Godly Play story, art, and other activities.

The Great Vigil of Easter — April 4th at 8pm

We’ll start by kindling the new fire of Easter in the dark on the labyrinth, and then share stories of our faith ancestors, glorious music, and finally ring in the first alleluias and Eucharist of Easter. If you have bells, please bring them! Please note that incense will be used at this service.

Easter Day — April 5th at 8 and 10:15am

It’s Church of the Resurrection at our best! Join us for two festive Eucharists, with baptism at 8am and the addition of glorious music at the 10:15 service, and a rambunctious Easter egg hunt and a great many cupcakes to follow. The 10:15 service will also be livestreamed.
