Not feeling so “merry, merry” or “ho, ho, ho”?

As Christmas plans and activities gear up in the secular and church worlds, some may find themselves feeling out of synch with the holiday celebrations and cheerfulness.

Perhaps Christmas is a time of loneliness or loss for you. Perhaps some others you hold dear are going through very hard times and you want to stand with them.

Resurrection will offer a Blue Christmas Service on Tuesday, December 12 at 7 pm.

This will be a simple, contemplative service with music, readings, time for reflection and lighting of candles. Many of our healing team members are planning to be present to offer prayers for healing of body, mind, and spirit … for ourselves, our friends and family, our country, and our world.

Worship is at the heart of our life together, and Episcopal worship is rich in symbolism and tradition. At the same time, it is a contemporary expression of our belief and faith in a Living God who is present and accessible in material and ordinary things.

How we choose to spend our money is one sign of what is important to us, and it can be an intentional expression of gratitude for all that God has given us.
