Lenten Food & Layette Drive
February 23-31, 1969
We will be collecting food and layette items, in partnership with our neighboring Hillcrest Church throughout Lent. The Hillcrest Food Pantry serves 253 individuals, which is 74 households, in a typical month. The Layette Program helps 10-15 parents a month with essentials including; diapers, clothing, formula, toys, books, blankets. The folks served by these programs are our neighbors. Our children go to school with their children. Boxes will be available in the Sanctuary to collect donations of requested items as well as monetary donations to assist the Hillcrest Pantry and Layette. Please select from the following needed items:
- peanut butter
- canned chili or ravioli
- Spam
- cereal
- canned soup
- canned fruit
- canned vegetables
- cake or cookie mixes
*NO EXPIRED ITEMS PLEASE.
The layette needs the following NEW items:
- stuffed animals 18 to 22 inches
- sweaters & jackets: Girls & Boys all sizes to 12 months
- sleep and plays: Boys 3 and 12 months, Girls 3, 9 and 12 months
- outfits short sleeve: Girls and Boys 3,6,9 and 12 months
- outfits long sleeve: Girls 3,6, 9 and 12 months
- body suits short sleeve: Boys 3,9 months, Girls 3,6,9 months
- body suits long sleeve: Boys 3 months
- fleece sleep sacks: small size
- socks: Girls 3,6,9, 12 months
- soft caps: boys and girls
- burp cloths
