Safe Church Policies | Church of the Resurrection

Following the Diocese of California safe church policies, Church of the Resurrection has adopted these guidelines for adult employees and volunteers who work with children and youth in church programs, and all people who have keys to the church. This process brings our congregation into compliance with the Diocese of California safe church policy standards:

Online Training, Background Check and Volunteer Application:

All employees and adult volunteers who work with children and youth in church programs, and all people who have keys to the church, must take an hour-long online course found on Diocesan Whole and Healthy Church Policies Site and complete a background check. Please contact the office to sign up for the training.

Diocesan Policies

It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the full diocesan policy, Whole and Healthy Church. This policy is also available in hard copy at the office of Church of the Resurrection.
Church of the Resurrection will be intentional about ensuring that at least two adults will always be present with any group of kids, and that we maintain a 1/5 ration of adults to youth.
Additional training TBD will eventually be required for leaders of programs involving youth and children.

Our community is made up of people of all ages, religious backgrounds, political positions, family configurations, ethnicities and church experience. We share a love of and connection to God and each other, a sense of meaning and belonging, a yearning to grow in our faith, and a desire to serve Christ by reaching out to others in the community. We also have a lot of fun together.

Worship is at the heart of our life together, and Episcopal worship is rich in symbolism and tradition. At the same time, it is a contemporary expression of our belief and faith in a Living God who is present and accessible in material and ordinary things.

We are delighted to offer the sacrament of marriage (and all other sacraments) to all couples, no matter their genders. We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.
