Warm Winter Nights - Family Shelter
Winter Nights is rotating family shelter in East Contra Costa County. The collaborative effort protects homeless families by providing shelter in a clean, safe, and warm environment and help families break the homelessness cycle by assisting them toward self-sufficiency and into stable housing. The program runs from October to May of each year. Many congregations throughout Central and East Contra Costa County provide shelter, food, and volunteers for homeless families with children and homeless seniors. Every year, usually in the late fall Church of the Resurrection hosts Winter Nights for two consecutive weeks. Together, we pitch in to cook meals, offer tutoring and fun for the kids and extra support, comfort and love for the parents. There are many ways to support this great program — contact Jenlle Towle to learn more.
